Using the Keyboard to Insert or Delete a Database Field

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 2.0, 2.5, and 2.5a
To insert or delete a field in a database using the Microsoft FoxPro
Structure dialog box without using a mouse, use the CTRL+I or CTRL+D key
combinations. To access the Structure dialog box, choose Modify from the
Setup menu, and then select Structure.
The specific steps to add or delete a field in the Structure dialog box are
as follows:
- Using the TAB key to move between fields, place the cursor on a field
name.
- Press CTRL+I to insert a new field above the current field, or press
CTRL+D to delete the current field.
When you are adding a field, do the following:
- Place the cursor on the Type field. Press ENTER or SPACEBAR to see
the list of available field types. Use the arrow keys to select the
desired type, then press ENTER.
- Enter appropriate values in the Width and Decimal fields.
- Use the TAB key to move to the OK button and press ENTER.
