The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you insert or open a Microsoft Word file that contains bulleted or numbered paragraphs, the bullet points or numbers may be lost when the document is converted to Rich Text Format (RTF).
CAUSEThis data is dropped by the Microsoft Word to RTF text converters that are shipped with FrontPage 98 and Office 97.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, use either of the following methods:
Method 1: If you do not have Word 97Select the imported list and reapply the bullets or numbering by choosing Bullets And Numbering on the Format menu in FrontPage Editor.
Method 2: If you have Word 97In Word 97, save the file as Rich Text Format, close the file and then import it into FrontPage Editor.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATIONIn FrontPage, documents are converted to HTML in two steps: First, the document is converted from its native format to RTF. Next, the document is converted from RTF to HTML using a separate converter.
