When you establish an infrared connection between a Handheld PC (H/PC) and a desktop computer, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot start communications with the desktop computer. No carrier was
detected on the communications port. Please verify that the
communications line is connected and active.
This error message can occur if any of the following conditions exists:
To resolve this behavior, use the following steps, checking to see if the issue is resolved after each step:
1. Position your infrared ports out of direct sunlight.
2. Move your infrared ports within the connection range. Infrared devices
should be no more than 3 to 6 feet apart and no less than 6 to 9 inches
apart. The angle of the cone of infrared transmission is 30 degrees.
3. Install new batteries in your infrared device or plug in an AC adapter.
