SYMPTOMSWhen you attempt to send or receive an e-mail message using Outlook Express, you may receive the following error message:
MSIMN caused an invalid page fault in module INETCOMM.DLL at <address>. CAUSEThis error message can occur if you install the Windows Sockets (Winsock) 2 Update, but do not update Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) using the Vipup20.exe and Vtcpup20.exe files.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this behavior, download and install the Vipup20.exe and Vtcpup20.exe files from the Microsoft Software Library. To do so, follow these steps:
MORE INFORMATIONWhen you install the Winsock 2 Update but do not update TCP/IP, the Inetcomm.dll file is not updated to a version that is compatible with the Winsock 2 Update. When you install the Vipup20.exe and Vtcpup20.exe files, the Inetcomm.dll file is properly updated.
