SYMPTOMSWhen you copy text formatted in Rich Text Format (RTF) and paste it into FrontPad, odd characters in may be displayed in FrontPad. This behavior is specific to the FrontPad program that is included as part of Internet Explorer 4.0; it does not occur in the full version of FrontPad.
CAUSEThe ability to convert Rich Text Format (.rtf) files is not included in this limited version of FrontPad. The characters you see are American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) character codes.
RESOLUTIONTo work around this issue, follow these steps:
