When you disable image downloading in an Active Desktop item's subscription properties, images are still downloaded and displayed when the Active Desktop item's subscription is updated.
The Active Desktop is refreshed every time an Active Desktop item's subscription is updated. When this occurs, the Active Desktop downloads and displays the images for the Active Desktop item even though image downloading is disabled in the Active Desktop item's subscription properties.
To prevent images from being downloaded when an Active Desktop item's subscription is updated, you must disable image downloading in both the subscription and in Internet Explorer. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Double-click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop.
2. On the Favorites menu, click Manage Subscriptions.
3. Right-click the subscription for which you want to disable image
   downloading, and then click Properties.
5. Under Items To Download, click the Images check box to clear it, click
OK, and then click OK again.
7. In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the View menu, and then
   click the Advanced tab.
   then click OK.
1. Click Start, point to Programs, click Windows Explorer, and then
   double-click Windows.
right-click the Active Desktop component for which you want to
disable image downloading, and then click Properites.
4. In the "Items to download on pages" section, click the Images check
box to clear it, click OK, and then click OK again.
   then click the Advanced tab.
   and then click OK.
If image downloading is disabled in Internet Explorer only, images are still downloaded when the Active Desktop item's subscription is updated, but they are not displayed in the Active Desktop item.
