SYMPTOMSAfter you click Send And Receive, you may be unable to cancel the dialog box using the Cancel button.
CAUSEMessages cannot be canceled when Internet Mail is waiting for a response from the mail server. When the Send And Receive button is clicked, Internet Mail issues a request for information from the mail server. In some cases, the mail server response is slow. Internet Mail cannot allow canceling until the server either responds or times out.
RESOLUTIONThe server may be slow if you have the Leave A Copy Of Messages On Server feature enabled. Although it may appear that nothing is happening, the server may be busy reading your mail drop. To speed up this process, you may want to delete mail from your server and store it locally on your computer. To do so, follow these steps:
