The information in this article applies to:
When you attempt to access a Web page on a computer running Microsoft Personal Web Server for Macintosh, you may be unable to access the page if the HyperText Markup Language (HTML) file for the page, or the disk or folder containing the file, contains a slash ("/") in its name.
Personal Web Server interprets the slash as a separator in the path to the HTML file rather than a character in the file, folder, or disk name.
To work around this problem, rename the HTML file or the disk or folder containing the HTML file so that its name does not contain a slash, or move the HTML file to a disk or folder whose name does not contain a slash.
Slashes are valid characters in file, folder, and disk names on Macintosh computers. However, Microsoft Internet Explorer cannot distinguish between slashes used as a separator in the path to a file and slashes contained in a file, folder, or disk name.
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
