IMPORTANT: This article contains information about editing the registry. Before you edit the registry, you should first make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat). Both are hidden files in the Windows folder.
When you attempt to post files to an Internet service provider (ISP) using a proxy server with Microsoft Web Publishing Wizard, the operation may not work.
Your Internet connection settings may not be configured correctly to post files using a proxy server.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your Web browser, verify that the correct proxy information has been entered. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Right-click The Internet icon on the desktop, and then click Properties.
2. On the Connection tab, click the Connect Through A Proxy Server check
box to select it, and then click Settings.
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows 95. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
For information about how to edit the registry, view the Changing Keys And Values online Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). Note that you should make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat) before you edit the registry.
