The information in this article applies to:
When you share a folder for Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) access using Personal Web Server Administration, the folder may not appear to be shared when viewed in Windows Explorer.
Folders shared using Personal Web Server Administration may not display the shared icon in Windows Explorer.
To cause a folder shared for HTTP or FTP access to display the shared icon in Windows Explorer, share the folder using Windows Explorer instead of Personal Web Server Administration. To do so, follow these steps:
1. Start Windows Explorer. To do this, click the Start button, point to
Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
2. In Windows Explorer, locate the folder you want to share.
3. Click to select the folder, and then click Sharing on the File menu.
4. Click Shared As, and then click Web Sharing.
5. Click Share Folder For HTTP or Share Folder For FTP, and then select
the appropriate access rights for the share.
