Internet Explorer 1.5 and 2.0 Icons Appear in Windows NT 3.51

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0 for Windows NT 3.51 on a computer running Internet Explorer 1.5 for Windows NT 3.51, icons appear in the Microsoft Internet Group for Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer 2.0.

RESOLUTION

While both versions function properly, you may want to remove Internet Explorer 1.5 to save disk space. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Delete the directory in which you installed Internet Explorer 1.5.

   For information on how to delete files and directories, view the help
   topic deleting.

2. Delete the Iexplore.ini, Globhist.htm, and Hotlist.htm files from the

   Winnt directory.

   NOTE: If you want to keep the Favorites list from Internet Explorer
   1.5, do not delete the Hotlist.htm file.
