Partial Messages May Not Be Combined When ReceivedLast reviewed: September 3, 1997Article ID: Q154350 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSYou may receive multiple parts of a message in Internet Mail that are not combined upon retrieval.
CAUSEThe messages were not all received at the same time and therefore are not combined.
RESOLUTIONAsk the sending party to send the message again, if possible without breaking up the message.
STATUSMicrosoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONSome gateways or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) servers reject messages that are too large. Therefore, options to break apart messages over a certain size are needed. Internet Mail can send large messages as separate messages to be reassembled, rather than as one large message.
