The information in this article applies to:
When you attempt to view a three-dimensional (3-D) virtual world (.wrl) file using the Microsoft Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) Add-In for Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0, the status bar may display the following status:
Error in VRML File!
When this occurs, nothing is displayed in the VRML Add-In window.
The VRML file may not be properly formatted, or the VRML file may not be compliant with VRML 1.0.
Microsoft VRML Add-In supports the Virtual Reality Modeling Language specification version 1.0, and may not be able to read in .wrl files that are not compliant with VRML 1.0.
The Vrml.log file may contain information that can help you trace the source of the error. The Vrml.log file is created in the folder containing VRML Add-In each time you open (or try to open) a .wrl file. You can view the Vrml.log file with any text editor.
To open the Vrml.log file, follow these steps:
1. Click the Start button, point to Find, and then click Files and Folders.
2. In the Find dialog box, click the Name & Location tab.
3. Type "Vrml.log" in the Named box, and then click Find Now.
4. Double-click the "Vrml.log" icon when it is displayed in the results
pane of the Find dialog box.
5. If the Open With dialog box is displayed, double-click NOTEPAD under
"Choose the program you want to use."
