The Microsoft Internet Information Server supports file name mapping. It maps file name extensions to the proper program so that it can run files with those extensions. Some extensions are pre-installed and others are manually added.
File names with the extensions of .bat, .cmd and .idc are pre-installed.
Other extensions must be added in the following manner:
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide
problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct them.
Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of
Registry Editor can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.
