Last reviewed: December 11, 1997
Article ID: Q177139
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Visual InterDev, version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

When running the setup program for the Visual InterDev Web Solutions kit, after the message "Launching browser, please wait," the setup program launches two instances of the browser and never continues.

CAUSE

The Default.htm page that the setup program launches is a frames-based page, and your browser does not support frames.

RESOLUTION

Install a frames-enabled browser such as Internet Explorer 3.02 or Internet Explorer 4.0.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

You likely have a clean install of Windows NT 4.0 (or prior). The browser that ships with Windows NT 4.0 is Internet Explorer 2.0, which does not support frames.
