FIX: Printing Fails with java.lang.NullPointerExceptionID: Q177185
|
Printing from your Java applet or application will fail with the Microsoft virtual machine (Microsoft VM) from Internet Explorer 4.0 when using certain printer
drivers.
If you enable Java logging in Internet Explorer and look in the Javalog.txt
file, you will see a java.lang.NullPointerException when trying to print.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. The problem has been fixed in the Microsoft VM build 2334 or later. Download the Microsoft virtual machine from http://www.microsoft.com/java/.
HP Laserjet 5Si/5Si MX PS printer driver is a known driver that will not print correctly.
