When you run the Microsoft Access Setup program in Maintenance mode, and you click the Remove All button, some Microsoft Access files are not removed from your computer.

This behavior occurs because Setup does not remove any files that may be used by other applications.

This article lists which files and folders Microsoft Access 97 leaves on your hard disk after you uninstall the program.

In order to completely uninstall Microsoft Access 97 from your computer, manually remove the files and folders listed below. Before you begin, consider the following additional information:

If you remove any files that are used by other applications, those applications may not work correctly.

Depending on the type of installation you performed when you ran Setup for Microsoft Access 97 (Typical, Custom, Run from CD-ROM), some of the files listed may not be on your hard disk.

Depending on your operating system, some of the files may be installed in your \Winnt\System32 folder instead of the \Windows\System folder.

You may also need to remove the files DAO3032.DLL and DAO350.DLL from the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO folder.

In Microsoft Windows 95 or later or Windows NT version 4.0, you may need to perform the following steps in order to see all of the files listed:
1. Open My Computer or start Windows Explorer.
2. On the View menu, click Options.
3. Click the View tab.
4. Click Show All Files, and click to clear the "Hide MS-DOS file extensions for file types that are registered" check box. Click OK.

If you want to see a list of the Windows registry keys created by Microsoft Access 97, run the following command line, where <Drive> is the drive letter of your CD-ROM or diskette drive:

      <Drive>:Setup /g c:\log.txt 
```
This command creates a log file in your root folder that contains the names of all the files installed and the registry keys created by your Microsoft Access 97 installation.

WARNING: Editing the registry incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows 95 or Windows NT. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect editing of the registry can be solved. Edit the registry at your own risk.

 If the Dataacc.exe was run from the Data Access folder in the ValuPack,
 the following files are not removed by the Remove All option of Microsoft
 Access setup:

   \Windows\System\msexch35.dll
   \Windows\System\mspdox35.dll
   \Windows\System\odpdx32.dll

 Additionally, if Webpost.exe was run from the Webpost folder in the
 ValuPack (Web Publishing Wizard), the following file is not removed by the
 Remove All option of Microsoft Access Setup:

  \Windows\System\Webpost.dll

 * These files replaced older versions.

 ** System.mdw stores security information for your database. If you delete
    this file you may lose any security that has been setup for your
    database. Deleting this file may also make your database inaccessible.
