ACC97: How to Completely Uninstall Microsoft Access 97ID: Q163997

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
When you run the Microsoft Access Setup program in Maintenance mode, and
you click the Remove All button, some Microsoft Access files are not
removed from your computer.
This behavior occurs because Setup does not remove any files that may be
used by other applications.
This article lists which files and folders Microsoft Access 97 leaves on
your hard disk after you uninstall the program.
In order to completely uninstall Microsoft Access 97 from your computer,
manually remove the files and folders listed below. Before you begin,
consider the following additional information:

If the Dataacc.exe was run from the Data Access folder in the ValuPack,
the following files are not removed by the Remove All option of Microsoft
Access setup:
\Windows\System\msexch35.dll
\Windows\System\mspdox35.dll
\Windows\System\odpdx32.dll
Additionally, if Webpost.exe was run from the Webpost folder in the
ValuPack (Web Publishing Wizard), the following file is not removed by the
Remove All option of Microsoft Access Setup:
\Windows\System\Webpost.dll
* These files replaced older versions.
** System.mdw stores security information for your database. If you delete
this file you may lose any security that has been setup for your
database. Deleting this file may also make your database inaccessible.
