The MOUSE.EXE file included with the Microsoft Mouse driver 9.0
performs the following load sequence:
- Process the command line and execute any switches.
- Read the mouse initialization file (MOUSE.INI) for settings.
- Locate the device by initializing device modules in the following
order:
- PS2
- Serial
- Inport
- Bus
- Load video modules that are required for the system (for example,
CGA or VGA).
- Move the device and video modules that initialized successfully,
and discard initialization code that is no longer needed (compaction).
- Reset the mouse driver in its new location in memory.
- Terminate processing but stay resident in memory.
