Mouse 9.0 Doesn't Function in MS-DOS Apps with PCAnywhereID: Q104233
|
After you install Symantec's PCAnywhere version 1.0 for Windows, you may lose your mouse functionality in MS-DOS-based applications.
The new version of PCAnywhere for Windows loads its HOST driver file
at the beginning of the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. When this driver loads, it
polls the communication ports for input. This constant polling
prevents mouse functionality.
NOTE: The PCAnywhere HOST driver has no effect in Windows.
PCAnywhere installs the following line in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
C:\Winaw\Aw5host -p=c:\Winaw -w=C:\windows -m=r)
If this line is loaded before the MOUSE.EXE file, the mouse does not move.
To correct this problem, position this line after the MOUSE.EXE file.
