Mouse Pointer for C3KMMP3 Mouse Moves to Left Side of ScreenID: Q132985
|
When you use a Microsoft Mouse version 2.0 device (FCC ID C3KMMP3) with version 9.01 of the Microsoft Mouse driver on a computer that has a Phoenix BIOS, the mouse pointer moves to the left side of the screen.
This problem usually occurs with a Microsoft BallPoint mouse attached to a PS/2-style port on a computer with a Phoenix BIOS. The Phoenix BIOS handles the PS/2 port differently than do other types of BIOS, causing a loss of position data. The C3KMMP3 device is a new desktop mouse that produces the same symptoms as the BallPoint mouse when it is attached to a PS/2 port on a computer with a Phoenix BIOS. The problem occurs in both MS-DOS and Windows.
To correct this problem, follow these steps:
PhoenixBios=TRUE
On some computers, the mouse driver identifies the pointing device as a BallPoint mouse and adds the following line to the [mouse] section of the Mouse.ini file:
Device=Ballpoint
This entry does not affect the mouse's performance.
