The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

In the Microsoft Natural Keyboard Task Manager (TASKSW16.EXE), when you open Help, Task Manager is removed from the desktop.

STATUS

The closing of the Task Manager when you choose Help (or any other action in Task Manager) is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

The functionality of the Task Manager is similar to that of the Task List (TASKMAN.EXE) found in Windows and Windows for Workgroups.

There is no option to keep both Help for Task Manager and the Task Manager itself on the screen at the same time.

NOTE: If you want to use the original Task List rather than the Task Manager, edit your SYSTEM.INI file to read as follows:

   SYSTEM.INI
   [boot]
   taskman.exe=taskman.exe
