The information in this article applies to:
In the Microsoft Trace Utility, when the user specifies the fully qualified path to a MOVE.TRC file that is not in the current directory, execution halts with the following error message:
TR1010: cannot find trace file
Change the current directory to the directory that contains MOVE.TRC, then run the Trace utility.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Trace Utility versions 1.0 and 1.1 for MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Trace Utility version 1.2 for MS-DOS.
The MOVEAPI.TXT file, provided with Microsoft C/C++ version 7.0, includes the following text:
To run TRACE, use the following syntax
TRACE [options] [tracefile]
The <tracefile> is the MOVE.TRC file created during a tracing
session. You can specify a path with the filename.
As indicated above, if the MOVE.TRC file is in a directory other than the
current directory, the Trace Utility does not run.
