Full Logging for CRS

SUMMARY

This article shows you how to receive full log files for the Content Replication Server (CRS). The full log files will let you know how your system and CRS are working.

NOTE: This feature takes a lot of system resources (can be over three pages of logging per second) and should only be used for troubleshooting.

To receive full log files, make the following change in the registry:

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows NT. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

2. Under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, go to the following subkey:

      SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\CRS

3. Change the FullLogging option from No to Yes.

4. Quit Registry Editor.

The Yes option provides complete details of all replication events. The No option provides only basic notification.
