IMS: No Support for Quoted E-Mail Addresses on Local ServerLast reviewed: February 3, 1998Article ID: Q160116 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSThe Internet Mail Server (IMS) currently does not support the full e-mail address set on local addresses. This will limit the number of customers that can be supported (but not severely). Outbound names with quotation marks, like "Joe.Smith"@acme.com or even "Joe \"Dev Team\" Smith"@acme.com can be supported, but these same addresses cannot be created locally.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
