IMS: Upgrading SMTP POP3 After Deleting File Dir Structure

Last reviewed: February 3, 1998
Article ID: Q160109
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Commercial Internet System, version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

If the mailroot directory tree(inetpub\mailroot...) is deleted before upgrading SMTP/POP3, only part of the tree will be created. Specifically, the only two directories in the tree that are created are the \inetpub\mailroot directories. The queue, badmail, mailbox, and pickup directories are not created. This only happens during an upgrade.

MORE INFORMATION

In accordance with the Readme files included with RC1, upgrades are not recommended.

STATUS
