Secure Chat Server (DPA, RPA) May Cause Memory Leaks

SYMPTOMS

A small potential memory leak was discovered in the chat server. This occurs when the security context is not closed at the same time as the connection.

RESOLUTION

Chatsvc.dll has been modified to fix this problem. Install Service Pack 1 (SP1) for MCIS to correct this problem. The update replaces Chatsvc.dll with a newer version.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System, version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
