BUG: Uninstall Leaves MQIS Data Source in the ODBC Registry

SYMPTOMS

When you uninstall a Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ Server), Setup does not remove the MQIS data source from the ODBC registry.

This registration remains as an entry in the ODBC Administrator.

RESOLUTION

After completing an uninstall, you can remove the MQIS data source using the ODBC Data Source Administrator.

To remove the data source, use the following steps:

  1. Open Control Panel and double-click the ODBC icon to start the ODBC Data Source Administrator.

  2. Click the System DSN tab.

  3. Select the data source named MQIS.

  4. Click the Remove button.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in Microsoft Message Queue Server version 1.0 setup. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
