The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Office for Windows 95, version 7.0
If you create a Binder document that only contains Microsoft Excel module sheets, you will be forced to click View Outside on the Selection menu to view the module sheet. This will take you to the Microsoft Excel program. When you try and exit Microsoft Excel through normal means, you will receive the following error message:
Cannot close with a module active. Please switch to another
sheet in the workbook.
Module sheets are not OLE objects, so they cannot be displayed within a Binder (which is an OLE container). When you try to exit Microsoft Excel from View Outside, it is necessary to revert back to the Binder. Because it is not possible to display the module sheet in the Binder itself, the above error message is generated.
This behavior is by design.
To resolve this issue, add a worksheet or a chart sheet to the workbook before you exit it. The worksheet or chart sheet must be the active sheet in order to return to the Binder.
Although the Binder initially displays a view of the workbook as an icon when it is first added, there is no way to return to that view when you switch to the binder from view outside.
