SYMPTOMSWhen you use Advanced Find in the Open dialog box to find a file, one of the following messages appears
CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Advanced Find command in the Microsoft Windows 95 Open dialog box fails to recognize nonphysical locations, including the My Computer, Network Neighborhood, and Entire Network locations. The message that appears is determined by the method that you use to specify the file location. For example, if you click Open a Document on the Office Shortcut Bar, click the Advanced button, and type "My Computer" (without the quotation marks), the second message appears if a physical location is selected in the Look In box in the Open dialog box. A different message will appear if a nonphysical location is selected in the Open dialog box.
