When you run the Setup program for one of the applications listed above on an Apple Power Macintosh computer running SoftWindows, your computer may not read the Setup disks, and the application may not be installed. The Setup program may fail to recognize disk 2 and will continue to prompt you for disk 2 after you've inserted it in the disk drive.
This behavior occurs because the floppy disks that contain the Setup program for the applications listed above use Distribution Media Format (DMF). This formatting allows storing 1.7 MB on a 3.5-inch floppy disk.
SoftWindows is not a supported configuration for any of the Microsoft Windows applications. There has been no formal testing of our applications running under SoftWindows.
To work around this problem, you can obtain a replacement set of floppy disks from Microsoft that are not DMF-formatted.
SoftWindows is manufactured by Insignia Solutions, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
