OFF95: Last Icon on Shortcut Bar Hidden by Windows 95 Taskbar

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar that comes with Microsoft Office for Windows 95, the toolbar button closest to the bottom of the Shortcut Bar may not be displayed.

CAUSE

This problem will occur if the following conditions exist:

The Office Shortcut Bar is docked on either the right or the left side of the screen.

-and-

The Microsoft Windows 95 taskbar is docked at the bottom of the screen.

WORKAROUND

To workaround this problem, use either of the following methods:

Method 1

Change the display size of the toolbar buttons on the Office Shortcut Bar to a smaller size. To do this, use the following steps:

Using the right mouse button (right-click), click the background of any toolbar on the Office Shortcut Bar, and then click Customize.

In the dialog box that appears, the View tab is selected by default.

On the View tab, under Options, clear the Large Buttons check box.

Click OK.

Method 2

Dock the Microsoft Windows 95 taskbar on the opposite side of the screen from the Office Shortcut Bar. To do this, drag the Windows 95 taskbar to the side of the screen opposite from the Office Shortcut Bar.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
