SYMPTOMS

The Office Small Business Pack contains links within the Help files that allow you to open the Small Business Pack templates and databases. Some of these links may not work as expected when they are accessed from Small Business Pack Help.

Note that all Microsoft Access database links work correctly.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

When you attempt to access Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint templates or documents through the Help file links, not all of the links work. For example, in the Statement of Net Worth help topic, click the button next to the "To complete a statement of net worth now, click" statement in Small Business Pack Help file.

Help takes you to the help screen instructions, but the template is not opened. This portion of Help assumes that you are in the "Statement of Net Worth" template.

NOTE: When you access this template by clicking the Answer Wizard, if the template is not open it will be opened.

Example to Demonstrate Problem

1. In Small Business Pack Help, click Contents tab.

2. Double-click the Using The Business Guide topic, and then double-click

   the Business Development topic.

3. Double-click Raising Money.

4. Double-click the Sources Of Funds--Self topic.

   The Business guide will be opened to the Sources of Funds--Self topic.

5. Click the Internal Measures button.

   The Internal Measures topic is displayed on the Source of Funds--Self
   topic.

6. Click the button next to the "For more information on generating

   capital, click" statement.

7. Click the Establishing Trade Credit topic.

8. At the bottom of the Help screen, click the button next to the "You can

   use the Statement Of Net Worth to create your personal financial
   history. To learn more about this template, click" statement.

   The Statement of Net Worth Help topic is displayed.

9. Click the button next to the "To complete a statement of net worth now,

   click" statement.

The instructions for completing a statement of net worth are displayed in Help; however, the template the template is not opened.
