OFF97: Back Button in Netscape Navigator Is Not Available

SYMPTOMS

When you click a hyperlink in a document that you created with one of the Office 97 programs, you may not be able to click Back in your World Wide Web browser in order to return to the Office 97 program.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you use Netscape Navigator, version 2.0 or 3.0.

WORKAROUND

Because you cannot click Back in Netscape Navigator, you must click the button on the taskbar for the Microsoft Office program to which you want to return. The document that contains the hyperlink you clicked should still be visible on the taskbar.

STATUS

This behavior is by design of Office 97.
