OFF97: NIW Progress Indicator Appears in Upper-Left CornerID: Q159525
|
When you open a setup table file (stf) in the Network Installation Wizard under Microsoft Windows NT 3.51, the progress status bar for opening the .stf file may appear in the extreme upper-left corner of the screen.
This behavior occurs only when you run Setup for the Network Installation Wizard on a computer running Microsoft Windows NT 3.51. The behavior does not impair the functionality of the Network Installation Wizard or its Setup program.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
The Microsoft Office 97 Network Installation Wizard allows you to create custom setup solutions for Microsoft Office 97. To use the Network Installation Wizard, you must first perform an administrative installation (Setup /a) of Microsoft Office 97 on a network server. Then, run the Network Installation Wizard, select the setup options that you want, and create a customized setup table file.
For more information about known issues that occur when you use the Network Installation Wizard, see Relnotes.doc, which is included with the Network Installation Wizard in the "Microsoft Office 97 Resource Kit."
