OFF97: Start Menu Shortcuts Change After UpgradeID: Q169034
|
When you upgrade Microsoft Office 7.0 to Microsoft Office 97 and fail to remove Office 7.0, the existing shortcuts on the Start Menu are updated to point to the Office 97 programs.
The upgrade process does not create new shortcuts for Office 97 in addition
to the existing shortcuts for Office 7.0.
NOTE: This behavior is the same for the Professional and Standard editions
of Microsoft Office.
If you want to create shortcuts on the Start menu for both versions of Microsoft Office, use one of the following methods.
<Windows folder>\Start Menu\Programswhere <Windows folder> is the folder that contains Microsoft Windows.
<Windows folder>\Start Menu\Programswhere <Windows folder> is the folder that contains Microsoft Windows.
<Windows folder>\Profiles\<username>\Start Menu\Programs
