SUMMARY

In the spring of 1996, Microsoft bundled Microsoft Bookshelf 1996-97 for the Macintosh with the Academic version of Microsoft Office for the Macintosh. However, the two products are not integrated; you must install each program separately. This is not the case for Office for Windows.

MORE INFORMATION

When it is installed, Microsoft Bookshelf 1996-97 Edition for the Macintosh adds another menu, through the QuickShelf Control Panel, to the Apple menu bar. The new menu is very similar to the Office Manager menu that is installed with Microsoft Office in that the new menu allows you to start the various components of Bookshelf from the QuickShelf menu. Use this menu to access Bookshelf. Because it is on the Apple menu bar, it is always available in any running program on your computer.

This product is offered as a full package product that includes both the Office Standard compact disc (version 4.2.1b) and the new Bookshelf 1996-97 Edition compact disc in the same box.
