SUMMARY

Microsoft Word for Windows version 2.0 does not provide built-in commands for Microsoft WordArt or Microsoft Equation Editor that you can assign to buttons on the tool bar. You can use the following macros to easily perform the individual functions.

To create the macro for WordArt, use the following steps:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Macro.

  2. In the Macro Name box, type a name for the macro (such as InsertWordArt), and choose the Edit button.

  3. Type the following lines in the macro editing window:

          Sub MAIN
          InsertObject .Class = "WordArt"
          End Sub

For the Equation Editor, follow steps 1-2 above, and type the following line between the Sub MAIN and the End Sub lines in the macro editing window: InsertObject .Class = "Equation".

To assign the macro to a tool bar button, use the following steps:

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Options. From the Category box, select Toolbar, and choose the Macros option button.

  2. In the Context box, select either Global or Template, depending on where you want to store the macro.

  3. In the Commands box, select InsertWordArt, then select [space] to create a new button.

  4. In the Button box, select the button you want to represent the macro. Choose the Change button, then choose the Close button.
