Background Color Doesn't Reach Ends of Short WordArt Frame

  • Microsoft WordArt version 1.0

SUMMARY

Under some configurations, the background shading of a very short WordArt frame may not extend all the way to the sides of the frame.

This appears to be dependent on the video driver being used. It can affect the printed output; that is, it will print as displayed on the screen.

Workaround

Make the WordArt frame wider.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Make a WordArt frame, almost any size taller than 1/16th inch tall.

  2. Use either the default "Your Text Here", or type your own text and/or spaces, select colored background, and choose the OK button.

  3. Resize the frame to 1/16th inch high or less.

  4. At this point, the frame should snap back to 1/8th of an inch, but the background shading may not go all the way to the left and right edges of the frame after it resizes.
