Citizen GSX Series Driver 1.02 Prints WordArt Incorrectly

SUMMARY

Microsoft WordArt images do not print correctly with the Citizen GSX Windows printer driver version 1.02.

This printer driver cannot print DIBs (device independent bitmaps) or BMPs (bitmaps) to dot-matrix printers that support color. The following formats are bitmap images and do not successfully print to dot-matrix printers that support color: 

   BMP
   WMF
   TIF
   PCX
   EPS
Printing images with these formats to dot-matrix color printers results in smudged printouts.

Workaround

You can work around this problem by putting the Citizen printer in an Epson emulation mode and using Epson printer drivers. Images in BMP, WMF, TIF, PCX, or EPS format print correctly if you use one of the following emulations:

  • Epson FX 80/850 emulation mode on the Citizen 200 GSX with the Epson 9-pin printer driver

    -or-

  • Epson LQ 2500 emulation mode on the Citizen 140/145 GSX with the Epson 24-pin printer driver
