The information in this article applies to:
The following error is generated if you click one of the symbol or template palette menus in the Equation Editor toolbar while running Equation Editor as a windowed Win-OS/2 session under OS/2 version 2.0 or 2.1:
EQNEDIT caused a General Protection Fault in
module EQNEDIT.EXE at 0002:03FA
Choose OK. EQNEDIT will close.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Equation Editor, versions 2.0 and 2.0a. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
Equation Editor operates successfully if it is running as a full-screen Win-OS/2 session.
To configure Word 6.0 for Windows (or any program in which you are inserting an Equation Editor object to run as a full-screen Win-OS/2 session), do the following:
1. Click the right mouse button on the Word icon in the OS/2 desktop. This
displays the context-sensitive menu for the icon.
2. Click the right-pointing arrow button, which is to the right of the Open
menu command. This displays a submenu.
3. Click the Settings option to display the Settings window for the icon.
4. Click the Session tab on the right side of the window.
5. Select the Win-OS/2 Full Screen option.
6. Close the Settings window.
The program now runs as a full-screen Win-OS/2 session, and Equation Editor runs successfully with it.
