SUMMARY

The Microsoft Equation Editor version 1.0 can print equations to 24-pin and 9-pin dot-matrix printers and Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 500 printers using the TrueType font technology included with the Microsoft Windows operating system version 3.1; however, when you print to one of these printers, the equations may be printed incorrectly.

MORE INFORMATION

The Equation Editor may choose incorrect fonts for formatting math equations. The Equation Editor chooses fonts based on the printer driver it detects. To change the fonts assigned to a style in the Equation Editor, choose Define from the Style menu. In the Styles dialog box, select the TrueType font Times New Roman for all styles except Lower Case Greek, Upper Case Greek, and Symbol; select the TrueType Symbol font for these three styles. These font choices result in correctly printed output when you print to 9-pin and 24-pin dot-matrix printers and DeskJet 500 printers in the Microsoft Windows operating system version 3.1.
