If you open Outlook when no disk space is available on your computer, you may receive the following error message:
A program still has file attachment open. Changes to the document will
be lost unless you save your changes to another file using the file save
as command on the file menu in the other program.
When you open Outlook, temporary files are created in your system's Temp folder. If no disk space is available, then Outlook cannot create the files, which results in the error message. The message is misleading because it does not communicate the actual cause--that your computer does not have enough disk space.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
