OL97: Appointments Imported From Schedule+ May be Off One Hour

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you import a Microsoft Schedule+ 7.0 (SCD) file containing an appointment in a non-US time zone into Microsoft Outlook 97, the appointment may be off by one hour when viewed in a US time zone.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

1. Create an appointment in Schedule+.

   a. In Schedule+, click Options on the Tools menu.

   b. On the Time Zone tab, click a non-US time zone on the Primary time
      zone list.

   c. Click to select, "Adjust for day light savings time."

   d. Create an appointment on a date that will be in Standard Time.

   e. Close Schedule+.

2. Import the SCD file into Outlook.

   a. In Outlook, click Import and Export on the File menu.

   b. Click to select, "Import from Schedule+ or another program or file,"
      then click Next.

   c. Click Schedule+ 7.0 then click Next.

   d. Type the name or Browse to the SCD file then click Next.

   e. Click to select, Import <filename>.scd (Appointments) into the
      Calendar then click Finish.

RESULT: The appointment created above may be off by one hour.
