The information in this article applies to:
In Microsoft Outlook 97, if you add a new Contact with a company name beginning with the word "The" such as, The Computer company, the word, The will be moved to the end preceded by a comma when you tab out of the Company field (example, Computer Company, The).
Immediately after adding the company name and tabbing out of the field, move back to the field and retype the company name. This time the word sequence will not change.
1. After tabbing from the Company field, press SHIFT+TAB to move back
to the Company field.
2. Retype the name. This time it will not be changed.
NOTE: Any previously created contacts that should have "The" at the beginning of the company name can be changed by reopening the contact and retyping the information.
This behavior is by design.
1. From Outlook's Contacts folder, on the Contacts menu, click New Contact.
2. In the Company field type, "The Computer Company" without the
quotation marks and press the TAB key.
RESULT: "The Computer Company" changes to "Computer Company, The."
