OL97: Error Message Caused by Internet Idioms Add-In

SYMPTOMS

When opening a mail item in Microsoft Outlook 97, you may get the following error message:

   Process: OUTLOOK.EXE File: extprsht.cpp line 220
   thread id - 129785.-187205

The message dialog box contains OK and Cancel buttons. clicking OK opens the message for processing. Clicking Cancel may cause a General Protection Fault.

CAUSE

You have installed an add-in called Internet Idioms, which is not compatible with Outlook.

RESOLUTION

Remove the Internet Idioms add-in as follows:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. On the General tab, click Add-In Manager.

3. Click to clear the Internet Idioms check box, click Remove, and then

   click OK twice.

4. On the File menu, click Exit and Log Off.

5. Restart Outlook.
