The information in this article applies to:
Microsoft Outlook 97 and Microsoft Outlook Express are different programs with different capabilities, although both can send and receive e-mail via the Internet. You cannot synchronize the information stored in the two programs; that is, if you have an e-mail message stored in Outlook Express, that e-mail message is not automatically available in Outlook. This article explains how to export the messages from Outlook Express so they become visible in Outlook.
To export the messages from Outlook Express, follow these steps:
1. On the File menu, point to Export, and then click Messages.
2. Click OK to the message "This will export messages from Outlook Express
Mail to Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange."
NOTE: If Outlook is not open, select the Profile you want to receive the
messages, and then click OK.
3. Click to select either "All" or "Selected Folders" to export, and then
click OK.
The folders and contents will appear in the Inbox of the selected Profile
in Outlook. The date and time of each message will display the date and
time you exported the messages from Outlook Express.
