You can send a mail message that contains a shortcut to a public folder to another Microsoft Outlook user. This is useful for quickly moving through multiple levels of folders.
To send shortcuts to public folders, follow these steps:
1. If the folder list is not visible, click Folder List on the View menu.
2. Move through the folder list to locate a public folder.
3. Create a new mail message and then change the focus by clicking outside
of the message, but still within the Outlook window. Do not minimize it.
4. Click to select the public folder and drag it over the mail item on the
Windows taskbar until the message opens.
5. Drop the folder onto the mail message.
6. Address the new mail message and send it.
The message body will contain the link to the public folder. The
recipient can click the link to open the public folder if they have
Outlook.
