In Microsoft Outlook 97, you may not receive a reminder for flagged messages that have a past due date and time.
The message is not in your delivery Inbox. For performance reasons, Outlook monitors only three specific folders for reminders: Inbox, Calendar, and Tasks.
Flagging a message is a quick way to either mark a message for you to follow up or mark a message with a request for someone else. If the flag has a reminder set, you receive a pop-up reminder at the due time.
When the recipient receives a message with a flag, a comment on the purpose of the flag appears at the top of the message. If you set a due date and time, this also appears. When the date and time is due, you receive a pop- up reminder.
If you move the message to another folder, the due date and time will pass without a reminder. If you move the past due message back into your delivery Inbox folder, the reminder immediately opens a pop-up reminder notice.
For more information about message flags, type "flag messages" in the Office Assistant, click Search, and then click to view "About message flags."
