In Microsoft Outlook 97, you can change the view of Public Folders from their default view to a different view. However, the persistence of the new views may be lost for all Public Folders except the last one changed.
This happens under the following conditions:
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97. This problem has been corrected in Microsoft Outlook 97 version 8.03.
1. Change the view of two or more Public Folders from their default
view to any other view:
a. Click to select the Public Folder.
b. On the View menu, point to Current View and click to select any
view other than the first one listed, the default view.
2. On the Tools menu, point to Synchronize and click All folders.
3. Click to select each of the Public Folders for which you changed
the view in step 1 above.
RESULTS: Each public folder has reverted to its default view except for the
last one changed.
