SYMPTOMS

At the end of setting up Proxy Server 2.0, you may get the following error message: 

   Setup cannot load the protocols to the Registry error no: 1722

CAUSE

The computer name of the Microsoft Windows NT Server is set to 15, the maximum number of characters.

RESOLUTION

Shorten the computer name of the Windows NT Server to 14 characters or less.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Proxy Server version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
